Types. Holotype male from Campo de Provas Brigadeiro Velloso, Serra do Cachimbo (09°16’18.6”S 54°56’22.9”W), Novo Progresso , Pará, Brazil, 07–17.IX.2003, A.B. Bonaldo, D.R. Santos-Souza & D.D. Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.

Diagnosis. Males are similar to those of A. juruti sp. nov. and A. almeirim sp. nov. by the endites with prolateral process with two retrolateral protrusions ( Figs 18 View FIGURES 17 – 23 , 79 View FIGURES 78 – 83 , 119 View FIGURES 118 – 123 ), but can be recognized by the combined presence of a short embolus and small, semicircular basal protrusion of endites prolateral process ( Figs 77 View FIGURES 68 – 77 , 79 View FIGURES 78 – 83 ). Females resemble those of A. juruti sp. nov. by the large mesial portion of internal genital sclerite ( Figs 131–132 View FIGURES 130 – 132 ), but can be recognized by the happy-face-like epigastric features, without posterior transversal lip ( Fig. 91 View FIGURES 84 – 91 ).

Description. Male (PBI_OON 40524, Figs 68–77 View FIGURES 68 – 77 ): Total length 1.64. CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace dark red-brown, ovoid in dorsal view, anteriorly narrowed to 0.49 times its maximum width or less, with angular posterolateral corners, surface of elevated portion of pars cephalica finely reticulate; non-marginal pars cephalica setae present in u-shaped row. Clypeus high, ALE separated from edge of carapace by their radius or more. Eyes ALE–PLE separated by less than ALE radius, PME touching for less than half their length, PLE–PME separated by less than PME radius. Sternum orange-brown, furrow wrinkled, surface rugose, covered with small round pits, anterior margin unmodified, lateral margin with infra-coxal grooves and anterior and posterior openings; setae evenly scattered. Mouthparts: paturon inner margin with short inter-digitating setae, distal region unmodified. Labium triangular; with 3–5 setae on anterior margin. Endites anteromedian tip with backwards folded ridge. ABDOMEN: dorsum soft portions pale white. Posterior spiracles connected by groove. Pedicel tube medium. Dorsal scutum yellow-brown, covering more than 3/4 of abdomen, more than 1/2 to most of abdomen width, middle surface reticulate, sides reticulate. Postepigastric scutum orange-brown, almost semicircular, covering about 3/4 of abdominal length, without posteriorly directed lateral apodemes. LEGS: pale orange; patella plus tibia I shorter than carapace, metatarsi I and II meso-apical comb absent. GENITALIA: Epigastric region with sperm pore situated at level of anterior spiracles. Palp: bulb yellow, 1 to 1.5 times as long as cymbium, embolus slightly sclerotized; flattened; twisted retrolaterally around 45 degrees.

Female (PBI_OON 40659, Figs. 84–91 View FIGURES 84 – 91 , 131 View FIGURES 130 – 132 ): Total length 1.98. As in male, except as noted. ABDOMEN: dorsum soft portions covered with large gray spots. Pedicel ribbed, scutum not extending far dorsal of pedicel. Epigastric scutum weakly sclerotized, epigastric scutum not surrounding pedicel dorsally. Postepigastric scutum weakly sclerotized, fused to epigastric scutum, with short posteriorly directed lateral apodemes. GENITALIA: anterior receptaculum squared larger than long, longposterior directed apodemas; short and sinuous transversal sclerite ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 130 – 132 ).
