Lectotype (designated here):― SOUTH AFRICA. KwaZulu-Natal: Ad Port Natal [Durban], without date, W. Gueinzius 11 (S S07-17134, image!, isolectotypes S S07- 17135, S07-17136, images!). Syntype:― SOUTH AFRICA. KwaZulu-Natal: Ad Port Natal [Durban], without date, W. Gueinzius 510 (S?).

Distribution:— Africa. South Tropical Africa: Mozambique; Southern Africa: South Africa and Swaziland *.

Voucher:— KENYA: Tana River District: Tana River National Primate Reserve , 30 m, 12 March 1990, Q . Luke et al. TPR 167 ( EA, K, MO, US).

Notes:— Loffler & Loffler (2005) reported Acalypha sonderiana View in CoL as “common” in Swaziland, but they offered only one locatity; Braun et al. (2004) excluded this species from their Swaziland checklist pending identification or additional specimens.
