Quintana Roo: Chichankanab, without date, G.F. Gaumer 2178 (BM!, MA [2 sheets]!, MO), G.F. Gaumer 2179 (BM!, K!, MO, NY [2 sheets]!, S!). = Acalypha multiflora (Standl.) Radcliffe-Smith (1976: 226) , syn. nov. ≡ Corythea multiflora Standley (1923: 649) .

Type : ― MEXICO. Nayarit: between Acaponeta and Concepción, 4 July 1897, J. N. Rose 1532 (holotype US!, isotypes

GH!, NY!).

Distribution:— America. Mexico Southeast and Mexico Southwest, Central America: Belize, Guatemala and Honduras.

Voucher: — MEXICO: Yucatan, Chichen Itza, in Thompson’s Cenote , June–July 1938, C. L . Lundell & A . Lundell 7337 ( DS, MICH, MO, TEX / LL) .

Notes:— After studying the type collections of Acalypha multiflora View in CoL we did not find sufficient differences to distinguish it from A. flagellata View in CoL . Because of its abundant pubescence, this species is often misidentified as A. villosa View in CoL in floras and checklists.
