Bombus monticola rondoui Vogt, 1909

High mountain subespecies distributed in the Cantabrian Range and the Pyrenees in forest and pastures, from 1800 to 2500 m ( Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez 2004).

At present, it has been collected in forest meadows of altitude, with patches of subalpine scrubland, between 1910 and 2175 m ( Fig. 7 ) on Centaurea scabiosa L., Cynoglossum officinale F., Echium vulgare L. , Lathyurus pratensis L., Lotus corniculatus L., Origanum vulgare L., Rhododendron ferrugineum L., Ranunculus acris L., Silene acaulis (L.) Jacq., Taraxacum dissectum (Ledeb.) Ledeb. , Taraxacum officinale F.H. Wigg , Trifolium pratense L. and Trifolium repens L.

This bee is not regarded as being scarce or threatened ( Table 2 ).
