Pugilina palissyi Pezant, 1908 [ Melongena ], was new species based on Fusus subcarinatus Lamarck, 1803 , sensu Deshayes, 1835 (Deshayes 1835: 565, pl. 77, fig. 7-14), non Lamarck, 1803, is thus a junior synonym of Fusus obtusus Deshayes, 1835 . Preoccupies F. obtusus G. B. Sowerby II, 1880 , a synonym of Colus islandicus (Mohr, 1786) [ Murex ] [now Colidae ]. Synonym of Melongena subcarinata (Lamarck, 1803) [ Fusus ] ( Snyder 2022: 143). — Current status: Pugilina obtusa (Deshayes, 1835) (Pacaud herein).
