Tydeus shabestariensis Akbari, Haddad & Kaźmierski sp. nov.
Description. organotaxy of idiosoma and appendages—typical for the genus ( Kaźmierski 1989b).
Female (n= 8) Idiosoma. Body of medium size, oval. (Figs. 1, 3): length of body excluding gnathosoma 270 (265–283); width 175 (166–181). Eyes absent. Dorsal cuticle without reticulation and covered with finely tuberculated striae, striae longitudinal on propodosoma; striae between pairs of dorso-medial setae transverse, forming an opened V- pattern medially. Dorsal body setae serrated and slender, all similar in shape; bothridial seta (bo) simple and filiform. Length of dorsal setae: bo 35, ro 20, la 22, ex 27, c1 22, c2 30, d1 25, e1 27, f1 30, f2 30, h1 30, h2 30, ps1 14. Seta f1 does not reach base of h1 (f1–h1 =40).
Lyrifissures ia ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 f) lie posteriorly to c2, lyrifissure im ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 g) close to setae e1, lyrifissures ih ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 h) posterior to anal opening. Venter completely striated. Striae between (mtα) setae forming V- pattern and between (mtβ) longitudinal ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 b). Genital chaetotaxy (0–6–4) ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 a).
Gnathosoma. Visible from above. Infracapitular setae simple. Palp tarsus significantly longer than cheliceral digits. Eupathidium (pζ) straight and gradually narrows towards tip. Seta d simple. Seta (ba) small; shorter than half width of palp tarsus ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 e). Cheliceral stilettos 9, palp femorogenu 35/5, seta df 20, dg 18, t’ 15, t’’ 8, palpal tarsus 18, pζ 5.
Legs. Measurements of legs (trochanter to end of tarsus) ( Figs. 2 View FIGURE 2 a, 2b, 2c, 2d): I–165, II–130, III–150, IV–155. All legs possess two claws and hairy empodium. Empodial hooks (om) absent. Coxae without reticulate patterns. Shape of cg (coxal organ) oval. Epimeral formula (3–1–4–2). All leg setae barbed. Chaetotaxy of leg segments (tarsus–trochanter): leg I (8+ ω I– 3 + k – 3–3–1), leg II (6+ ω II–2–2 –2–0), leg III (5–2–1–1–1), leg IV (5–2–1–1–0). Tarsus + apotele I length 45, width 11; solenidion ω I straight (5), shorter than half width of tarsus I. Seta ft’ 16, ft’’ζ 28. Famulus k’’ (3). Length of ω II 2.
Male (n=4). Similar to female except genital chaetotaxy (4–6–4): four pairs of eugenital setae present ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 c).
Type materials. All specimens (females and males) were collected from the soil under apple orchards in the vicinity of Shabestar city, East Azerbaijan, Iran, by Ali Akbari. The holotype female and 6 paratype females and 3 paratype males are deposited in the Collection of the Acarology Laboratory of Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tabriz, Tabriz, Iran. One paratype female and one paratype male are deposited in the Arachnida Collection of the ARC Plant Protection Research Institute, Pretoria, South Africa.

Etymology. This species is named after the region where it was collected.
Remarks. This species closely resembles Tydeus inclutus Livshitz, 1973 in Kuznetzov and Livshitz (1973), but differs from the new species according to the differences listed in Table 1. Tydeus shabestariensis sp. nov. is also similar to T. mississippiensis Baker 1970 . It differs from this species by its smaller body size (idiosomal length x width 265-283 x 166-181 in T. shabestariensis vs 383 x 204 in T. mississippiensis ) and the coxae lack reticulate patterns in T. shabestariensis (with reticulate patterns in T. mississippiensis ).
