Tuponia (Tuponia) brevicula Qi and Nonnaizab, 1997: 10 View in CoL .
Diagnosis. Recognized by the medium sized, total length 2.87 (male), 3.03–3.36 (female); body elongate, nearly parallel-sided; general coloration usually yellowish brown, head, pronotum and scutellum sometimes green; dorsum with sparse sericeous setae; length of antennal segment II almost equal to width of head; labium yellow, black apically, slightly exceeding meta-coxa; clavus and corium with dark transverse stripe, cuneus pale yellow, dark distally, membrane fumose with dark markings at apex; legs greenish brown, tibial spines pale without black bases; abdomen light greenish brown with golden pubescence. Similar to T. mixticolor in shape and dorsum coloration, distinguished from it by the pale tibial spines and the structure of male genitalia.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 33–36 View FIGURES 24 – 36 ): Endosoma L-shaped, with two apical spines, one apical spine with developed membrane, secondary gonopore large; right paramere recurved apically; phallotheca not strongly angled.
Host plants. Tamarix sp. ( Tamaricaceae ) ( Qi and Nonnaizab, 1997).
Distribution. China (Xinjiang).
Specimens examined. Male, CHINA: Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region: Ruoqiang County (38°58'N, 89°45'E), alt. 3000m, 6.VII.1993, Bao-Ying QI (Holotype); 6 females, same data as above (Paratypes).
