Distribution and habitat: —Eastern Brazil at 180–1000 m in Mata Atlântica.

Remarks: —Fée’s herbarium and types were originally housed at STR except for a set that he presented to Rio de Janeiro in 1872 ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976: 818, Windisch 1982), which is housed now at RB (Dodge in Stafleu & Cowan 1976). According to Urban ( Stafleu & Cowan 1976: 818), the remaining Brazilian ferns of Fée’s herbarium were acquired by Cosson, whose collection is now housed at P. Consequently, the specimens that may be regarded as holotypes of the ferns described by Fée should be expected at P, with putative isotypes at RB (see Windisch 1982). Fée always referred to collections and not to specimens, and although there are some single sheets from the herbarium Cosson at P of which can be argued that they were the sole basis for Fée’s descriptions, it seems wiser to choose lectotypes in any case (see McNeill 2014).
