Taraxacum pseudovernelense Doll (1978: 633 View in CoL , Plate LXII), as T. ‘pseudo-vernelense’, described as a member of T. sect. Alpina
Type indication:—“Typus: Holotypus im h Doll / Locus typicus: Malowitza-Hütte, Bachrand. 16. 7. 76. Doll“; also Plate LXXII: „ Taraxacum pseudo-vernelense Doll sp. nov. – Holotypus ”.
Type :— Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Malowitza-Hütte., 16 Jul 1976, R. Doll [as Taraxacum pseudo-vernelense Holotypus!] ( JE, no. det. 36145, lectotype, designated here; isotype: JE, no. det. 19260) .
Specimens of the OM:—There is a single rich gathering, later divided and mounted on four herbarium sheets. Sheet I includes also the plants photographed on Plate LXXII; there are three plants, two of them polliniferous, with regular pollen. Sheet II contains two plants in flower, one of them was examined and has regular pollen. Sheet III: three plants with flowers and fruits, two plants were found to be polliniferous, with pollen grains of regular size. Sheet IV: two rosettes with flowers and fruits; both plants proved to be polliniferous, with regular pollen.
Conclusion:—The whole material turned brown during preparation and many plants are damaged. That is why we selected the best plants as the lectotype. In all likelihood, the gathering belongs to the widespread sexual of T. sect. Crocea; its accepted name is T. paludosiforme , with T. pseudovernelense as a synonym. It should be added that T. pseudovernelense was erroneously reported to be non-polliniferous and tetraploid in the protologue.
