Type:— China, Yunnan, Foo-Niong , 1100 m, 3 May 1940, C.W. Wang 89139 (holotype KUN [KUN1209868]; isotype HITBC) .

Distribution and ecology:— a poorly known species, only collected in two localities in China (Yunnan & Guangxi provinces). It is a high-altitude species (1100–1250 m) and grows on limestone substrate.

Conservation status:— Based on the available specimens Jasminanthes saxatilis has only been collected three times. Jasminanthes saxatilis is therefore assessed as Vulnerable (VU, D2, IUCN 2012)
