Li et al. (1995: 243). Stephanotis chunii Tsiang (1936: 165) ; Marsdenia chunii (Tsiang) Forster (1995: 700) .
Type:— China, Kwangtung, Ting Wu Shan,, 6 May 1928, W. Y. Chun 6417 (lectotype IBSC [IBSC0005734], designated by Gilbert et al. (1995), isolectotype BO, K [K000873060], NY [NY03090921], PE [00029525], SING [SING0122336]).
Distribution and ecology:— China: Kwangtung and Guangxi.
Conservation status:— Based on the available specimens Jasminanthes chunii has only been collected three times. Jasmianthes chunii is therefore assessed as Vulnerable (VU, D2, IUCN 2012)
Notes:— A description of J. chunii was published in Li et al. (1995: 243). It is most similar to J. tuyetanhiae because when compared among mainland Asia species both have laminas with a cordate or subcordate base and both are smaller-flowered species with a corolla tube <9 mm long and corolla lobes <10 mm.
