Stachys subnuda Montbret & Aucher ex Bentham (1836: 50)

Type (lectotype, designated here):— [ Turkey, Erzincan] A.F.E. Coquebert de Montbret 2254, K (barcode K000928749) ( Fig. 1 ) .

According to Bhattacharjee (1982), in Turkey Stachys subnuda is distributed only in two provinces, Erzincan and Hakkari. These two provinces are very far from each other. Type location Erzincan is not geographically similar to the location Hakkari. The plants, growing in Hakkari province, might not be S. subnuda , and might be S. kurdica Boissier & Hohenacker (in Boissier 1844: 31). Stachys kurdica is distributed in Hakkari and Şırnak provinces of Southeast Turkey and northern Iraq and also extends to Iran ( Güner et al. 2019). Thus, S. subnuda , having two populations in Erzincan province of Eastern Turkey which are close to each other, a narrow endemic species to Turkey.
