Comparison of photographs of the female holotype of Oreodera ferruginea Fuchs, 1964 View in CoL (CHSV) and the female holotype of Sorelia cervina Lane, 1965 View in CoL (MNHN), kindly provided by Gérard Tavakilian (MNHN), led us to propose the synonymy and new combination.
Specimen examined. BRAZIL, Goiás: Rio Araguaia, female, IX.1971 (G. F. Santos) (MNRJ).
Geographical distribution. French Guiana, Brazil (Tocantins, Goiás), Bolivia.
