In 1916, Gamble described Salacia talbotii Gamble (= Salacia gambleana Whiting & Kaul ) based on the collections of W. A.Talbot. In the protologue, two collections, W. A. Talbot 1217 and 1361, have been cited. These specimens are placed at K and CAL, respectively. Among these specimens, both W. A. Talbot 1217 placed at K ( K 000669981, K 000669983) are prior to W. A. Talbot 1361 ( K 000669982, CAL 0000007479) and agree with protologue, therefore, being designated here as lectotype and isolectotype, respectively. While remaining specimens of W. A.Talbot 1361 ( K 000669982, CAL 0000007479) are syntypes.
