Pterygosoma indare Fajfer, 2013: 276 , figs 5–6, 9B–D
Type host: Agama sankaranica (Sauria: Agamide). Type locality: Nigeria (Idanre) .
Diagnosis. FEMALE. Gnathosoma . Chelicerae 170 long. Swollen cheliceral part about 1.4 times shorter than slender distal part. Fixed cheliceral digit spinous. Setae dF 1.3 times shorter than dG. Palpal tarsus with 3 setae. Subcapitulum with setae n. Hypostome with smooth flattened apex. Idiosoma 400–495 long and 845–1030 wide. Dorsum with 4 groups of setae: 56–58 pairs of antero-lateral serrate setae; 2 pairs of dorso-median setae: dm1 serrated, dm2 paddle-shaped and barbed apically; 3 pairs of postero-lateral apically expanded setae and 12–14 pairs of paddle-shaped or tapered peripheral setae. Venter with filiform setae vm1 and slightly plumose setae vm2 and vm3. Genital series represented by 3 pairs of spine-like setae g1–g3; setae g1 conspicuous, g2 and g3 minute. Pseudanal series represented by 5 pairs of paddle-shaped setae ps with spicules on apical part. Setae ps1 and ps2 situated dorsally, ps3–ps5 situated terminally. Legs chaetotaxy as in agamae group ( Tab. 1). All setae on each podomere filiform, except for slightly plumose setae d’FI–IV. Setation of tarsi I–IV as in group A ( Tab. 2). Setae tc’ of legs II–IV and a’, a”, u’, u”, vs’, vs” of legs I–IV smooth.
MALE. Unknown.
PROTONYMPH (based on 1 specimen from type host and locality). Gnathosoma . Swollen cheliceral part an slender distal part subequal in length, 45 long. Fixed cheliceral digit 10 long. Movable cheliceral digit with small basal spur. Palpal femur and genu with smooth setae each, 20 and 25 long, respectively. Palpal tibia and palpal tarsus with 3 smooth setae each. Peritremes 60 long. Hypostome with smooth flattened apex. Idiosoma 230 long and 495 wide. Dorsum with 2 groupings of setae: 25 and 26 pairs of antero-lateral serrated setae, 10−40 long, on right and left side of idiosomal dorsum; 2 pairs of dorso-median setae: dm1 serrated, dm2 apically expanded with minute spicules in apical part; Venter with 2 pairs of slightly plumose ventro-median setae: vm1– vm2 and 12 and 14 pairs of peripheral slightly apically expanded setae on left and right side of idiosomal venter. Genital slit situated ventrally. Genital series represented by 3 pairs of spin-like setae g1–g3 15−25 long. Pseudanal setal series represented by 2 pairs of paddle-shaped setae, 45−85 long, with spicules on apical part. Legs as in female.
Type material (examined). Holotype and 12 female paratypes from Agama sankaranica Chabanaud (Sauria: Agamidae ) (ZMUC–R36423), NIGERIA: Ondo State, Idanre; 18−21 August 1958, coll. Schiøtz and Volsøe.
Type material deposition. Holotype and 5 paratypes are deposited in the ZMUC, 4 paratypes in the AMU and 3 paratypes in the ZISP.
Non-type material (examined). One protonymph from Agama sankaranica ( ZMUC R36424) [dorsal surface], OF NIGERIA: Ondo State, Idanre ; 18–21 August 1958, coll. Schiøtz and Volsøe.
Non- type material deposition. Protonymph in the AMU (AMU–PTE8.1) .
Host and distribution. This species is known only from type host Agama sankaranica from Nigeria [Ondo State, Idanre ] ( Fajfer 2013a) .
