Range: — Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia (BE, CO, LP), northern Argentina, and Brazil.

Ecology: —Uncommon; in forests; 700–2200 m.

Notes: —Blades conspicuously covered by whitish hairs, especially on costae; apical pinna with a short-decurrent base onto the rachis; apices of the segments usually rounded; awns absent on costae adaxially. Variable in pubescence.
