It is positive for nitrate reduction, arginine dihydrolase (weak), urease, gelatinase, utilization of potassium gluconate and capric acid, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for indole production, glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, β-galactosidase, and utilization of glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, maltose, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid, per the analysis using the API 20NE kit. Strain BT76 (= NIBRBAC00050 2994) was isolated from soil in Hoenggye-ri, Daegwallyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, Republic of Korea.
