It is positive for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease (weak), esculin hydrolysis (weak), utilization of glucose, arabinose (weak), mannose, mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for indole production, gelatinase, β-galactosidase, and utilization of maltose and adipic acid, per the analysis using the API 20NE kit. Strain BG108 (= NIBRBAC000503381) was isolated from a forest in Banggwang-ri, Gwangui-myeon, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, Republic of Korea.
