Problepsis crassinotata Prout, 1917 View in CoL , Novit. zool., 24: 310. Holotype ♂, India: Khasi Hills (NHM).
Diagnosis. The species is characterized by the following characters: the male antenna is dentate; the vertex is black; the hind tarsus of the male is about two-fifths the length of the tibia; the ocellus of the forewing is rounded, consists of an incomplete black inner ring and covered by greyish silvery scales; the ocellus of the hind wing is digitiform and narrow at anterior half, broad and rounded at posterior half, darker than that of the forewing, and contains a dark greyish silvery inner ring at posterior half. The male genitalia of the species are similar to P. diazoma Prout, 1938 , but the base of the valvula is much narrower, without a small digitiform process inside; the apical spine of the aedeagus and the coecum penis is larger; the vesica has two narrow, long, curved sclerotized band and one tiny lobe, while the later lobe is replaced by two small lobes and one large spinous lobe in P. diazoma ;the central process of the eighth sternite of the male is much shorter. The female genitalia of the species are also very close to P. diazoma in the short and dilated ductus bursae and the signum, but the two digitiform membranous processes of the posterior margin of the lamella postvaginalis are smaller.
