Remarks. This species was originally described from an unspecified number of specimens with original data "Mindanao, Butuan, coll. Baker." We designate a lectotype to stabilize the identity of the species. Maldonado-Capriles (1972) removed this species to Philipposcopus after he examined two female specimens from the type locality, deposited in the USNM, based on the shagreen crown and forewing with both subapical cells open. Maldonado- Capriles (1972) opted not to designate a lectotype because he was unable to examine male specimens from Baker's syntype series. Based on our examination of Baker's syntypes in the USNM of Philipposcopus modestus , we placed this species in the new genus. The male genitalia of this species are described here for the first time.
