Description. Oblong, subopaque; head, scutellum, and legs black; pronotum with spot on anterior margin and a reddish triangular macula on each side; elytra black, with two transverse yellow bands, one basal and another postmedial, united by a discal band; venter black. Head: vertex of the head with transverse depression behind eyes; vertex trisulcate, medial sulcus faint; clypeus subquadrate, with confluent tubercles; frons punctate, not projecting. Antenna: antennomeres 1 and 2 thick, transverse, subequal in length and width; 3–5 cylindrical, subequal in length, sulcate; 6–10 transverse; 11 pointed at apex; 1–4 glabrous; 5–11 with gray setae. Pronotum: obconic; lateral margin straight, sinuate at base and apex; anterior angle with rounded tooth; surface sparsely, irregularly punctate, slightly canaliculate; medial transverse basal impression distinct; with distinct microsculpture between punctures; slightly narrower than elytra; at base twice as wide as long; pronotal length 0.9–1.0 mm (n=21); pronotal width 1.7–2.0 mm. Scutellum: subcordate; alutaceous. Elytron: lateral and apical margins densely denticulate; apical margin with 3–4 large frequently curved teeth; with 10 rows of punctures, scutellar row absent; intervals 2, 4, and 8 costate; costae 1 and 2 unite on apical ¼; 3 visible at base; 4 complete, weak; apical angle subemarginate; elytral length 5.3–5.9 mm; elytral width 2.4– 2.6 mm. Venter: prosternum smooth; meso- and metasterna smooth medially, punctate laterally. Leg: femur and tibia punctate; metatibia of male without tooth. Length: 6.0– 8.6 mm.
Remarks. This species can be distinguished by the elytra without a scutellar row; with the vertex of the head being trisulcate; by antennomeres 1–2 being transverse; and by the lateral margin of the pronotum being sinuate at base and apex while straight in the middle.
Host plant. Unknown.
Distribution. Argentina, Brazil, and Ecuador.
