Stout, erect, perennial, 1–2.5 m tall. Rootstock thick, 1–3 cm in diameter, covered at base with fibrous collar. Stem terete, solid, sulcate, slightly ribbed under umbel, densely retrorsely hispid in the lower part, hispid or glabrous above. Basal leaves ovate in outline, 20–50 cm (incl. petiole), 2-pinnate, segments ovate-oblong, 2–12 × 1–4 cm, leaf lamina glabrous beneath, somewhat main veins with simple hairs, apex obtuse or acute, base usually decurrent along rachis, margin crenulate-dentate; petiole 8–25 cm long, expanding basally to form a fairly conspicuous sheath 3–5.5 cm. long. Middle cauline leaves 1-pinnate, similar to basal leaves, but smaller. Upper cauline leaves much reduced, lobed or sheath-like. Umbels ±equally 8–14-rayed, 2–3.5 cm long, glabrous. Bracts 3–5, 5–8 × 0.5–1.5 mm, lanceolate-linear. Flowers 8–12 in each umbellule, pedicel glabrous, ± equal, 2–3 mm long. Bracteoles 3-5, linear-lanceolate, 2.5–4 mm long. Sepals obsolete. Petals yellow, ovate, strongly incurved in the distal part, with a truncate apex, 0.9–1.3 × 0.5–0.7 mm. Filaments 0.3–0.5 mm long; anthers yellowish, orbicular-elliptic, ca. 0.3 mm long. Stylopodium subconical, with ± undulate margin. Styles 0.4–0.9 mm long, reflexed in fruit. Fruit dorsally compressed, flattened. Mericarps 6–8 × 3– 4 mm, narrowly elliptic, glabrous, with 3 slender, filiform dorsal ridges, marginal wing 0.2–0.4 mm wide, yellowish.

Chromosome number: ―n = 11 (Rice et al. 2014).

Phenology: ―Flowering from May to July.

Distribution: ―Native to west Asia.
