Although Dillon (in Dwyer & al. in Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 67: 736. 1980) indicated unseen material in BAS as type, and Rudd (in Dassanayake & Fosberg, Revised Handb. Fl. Ceylon 1: 432. 1980) did the same for unspecified material in L, there appears to be no extant original material for the name.
