( Figs 10, 11 View FIGURES 6–13 , 16 View FIGURES 14–20 )
Mischocyttarus (Monacanthocnemis) napoensis Richards, 1978: 373 View in CoL . Holotype: ♀, Ecuador, Napo, 15–18.xii.1971 (M. Cooper) (NHM); examined
Mischocyttarus (Omega) napoensis: Silveira, 2008: 517 View in CoL
Diagnosis. Female. Fore wing length 7.6 mm (8.0mm in Richards 1978). Humeral lobes small and rather round; first metasomal segment short for this species-group ( Figs 10, 11 View FIGURES 6–13 ), length less than [mesoscutum + scutellum + metanotum], spiracles not prominent; overall color yellow, mesopleuron with strong dark brown to blackish mark near posterior margin and scrobe, and a large diffuse light brown mark anteriorly; hind trochanter and most of hind femur and tibia, and hind tarsus entirely black to dark brown; most of metasomal terga light testaceous with narrow yellow marginal bands.
Redescription. Female. Wing length 7.6 mm (8.0mm in Richards 1978). Head as high as wide in frontal view ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 14–20 ), FHH/IntOW 1.05; clypeus about as high as wide, H/WCLP 1.04; apex narrowly truncate; malar space very narrow; tentorial pit much closer to eye than to antennal socket; antennal scape moderately elongated, L / Wesc 2.8; posterior occeli widely separated; POL more than two diameters; POL/OOL 1.63; occipital carina well developed, distinct in lateral view and ending below the level of ocular sinus; gena considerably narrower than upper lobe of the eye; pronotum without a lateral fovea; anterior margin of pronotum with lamella raised and reflexed, in profile as a lip turned backwards in more than 180 degrees; region immediately behind the lamella without secondary margin; humeral angle well developed WCAR/WMS 1.14; pronotal carina high, forming comparatively smaller round humeral lobes, middle section distinctly straight ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 6–13 ); mesoscutum about as long as wide L/WMS 1.0; hind tarsi with asymmetric claws, inner claw longer, with apex uniformly rounded, but not enlarged or spoon-shaped; propodeum with median furrow shallow, developed on more than 4/5 of the length of propodeal dorsum, propodeal valve expanded below in lateral view, with triangular outline; first metasomal segment short, regularly widening from base to apex ( Figs 10, 11 View FIGURES 6–13 ), which is ca. 1.72 × wider than base; LSI/HMP 1.13; spiracles not prominent.
Color. Yellow. Antenna above; upper interantennal area extending to ocular sinus and frons, vertex and occiput, except for two triangular yellow marks adjoining eyes; anterior face of pronotum; mesoscutum, except for two median longitudinal stripes; large humeral mark; scrobe and upper posterior area of mesopleuron, posterior triangular mark on scutellum; posterior stripe on hind coxa; hind trochanter; most of hind femur; hind tibia and tarsi, dark brown to blackish; large mark on mesopleuron, light brown; disk of most metasomal terga (with narrow marginal yellow bands), light testaceous; wings hyaline with brown veins.
Male. Unknown.
Nest. Unknown.
Geographic distribution. ECUADOR: Napo. (see Fig. 34 View FIGURE 34 )
Remarks. No new records exist of this species, which appears to be restricted to the northwestern portion of South America.
Examined material. Only the holotype cited above.
