In the API 20NE system, positive for esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, β -galactosidase, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, and urease. L-Arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, and D-maltose are utilized as sole carbon sources; while D-Glucose, N -acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not.
