Description of Methylobacterium brachiatum JJ View in CoL 9004
Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated and rod-shaped. Colonies are circular, convex after 2 days on R2A agar at 25°C. Positive for urease in API 20NE, but negative for nitrate reduction, glucose fermentation, indole production, esculin hydrolysis, and β -galactosidase, arginine dihydrolase, and gelatinase activities. L-Arabinose, potassium gluconate, adipic acid, and D-maltose are utilized. Does not utilize D-glucose, D-mannose, Dmannitol, malic acid, trisodium citrate, N -acetyl-glucosamine, capric acid, and phenylacetic acid. Strain JJ9004 (= NIBRBA0000114155) was isolated from a freshwater sample, Wanju-gun, Korea.
