Macrolasia arcula Weise, 1903: 231 . Type locality: Pondichery. Jadwiszczak & Węgrzynowicz 2003: 183; Poorani 2004: 49.

Redescription. Length 4.4–5.0 mm; TL/EW = 1.20–1.22; PL/PW = 0.39–0.40; EL/EW = 1.05–1.06; EW/PW = 1.52 (male), 1.60 (female).

Body ( Figs. 34, 35 View FIGURES 34 – 35 ) oval, convex; dorsum pubescent. Pronotum yellow to orange with black triangular macula in median portion of disc; elytra yellow to orange, usually with five black maculae arranged in a 2–2–1 pattern. First anterior macula elongate, touching elytral suture then curved upward, but not reaching anterior elytral margin, second anterior macula round, located more laterally beneath humeral angle. Median pair of maculae weakly transverse, sometimes confluent. Posterior macula oval, sometimes absent.

Antenna ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ) with antennomere 3 shorter than pedicel and shorter than antennomeres 4 and 5 together; antennomeres 4 and 5 slightly elongate, subequal in length; antennomeres 6–8 subquadrate, subequal in length. Maxillary palpomere 2 elongate, 1.5 times longer than palpomere 3; palpomere 3 transverse; terminal palpomere more than 2 times longer than palpomere 3, broadened apically ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 8 – 16 ).

Prosternal process 1.35 times wider than length of prosternum in front of coxae at narrowest point.

Mesoventral process ~1.1 times wider than mesocoxal diameter at the same position ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 7 ). Epipleuron ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 7 ) about 2.5 times broader than metanepisternum.

Male terminalia and genitalia as in Figs. 20–26 View FIGURES 17 – 33 .

Female genitalia as in Figs. 30–33 View FIGURES 17 – 33 .
