Description of Luteimonas terrae HMF 6088

The cells are gram-negative, non-flagellated, and rod-shaped. The colonies are yellow in color, circular, convex, and smooth after incubation on R2 A plates at 30℃ for 3 days under aerobic conditions. It is positive for esculin hydrolysis, gelatinase, utilization of malic acid, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, β-galactosidase, and utilization of glucose, arabinose, mannose, mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid, per the analysis using the API 20NE kit. Strain HMF6088 (= NIBRBAC000503 108) was isolated from seawater in Jeju-si, Jeju-do, Republic of Korea .
