Description of Kitasatospora viridis ST View in CoL 12-12

Cells are gram-stain-positive and short rod shaped. Colonies are circular, flat, glistening, and white colored after incubation for 3 days on R2 A at 25° C. In the API 20NE system, positive for esculin hydrolysis, gelatin hydrolysis, and cytochrome oxidase; but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and β -galactosidase. N -Acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, and capric acid are utilized as sole carbon sources; while D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, D-maltose, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid are not. Strain ST 12-12 (= NIBRBAC000509714) was isolated from a soil sample at Ulju-gun, Ulsan, Republic of Korea .
