Description of Hyunsoonleella jejuensis KA View in CoL 3

Cells are Gram­staining­negative, non­flagellated, nonpigmented and coccoid­shaped. Colonies are opaque, round, smooth, convex and yellow­colored after 3 days on MA at 25°C. Positive for esculin hydrolysis and β ­ galactosidase in API 20NE, but negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease and gelatinase. Does not utilize D­glucose, L­arabinose, D­mannose, D­mannitol, N ­ acetyl­glucosamine, D­maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid. Strain KA3 (= NIBRBA0000114106) has been isolated from a seawater sample, Gwangyang Bay, Korea.
