Hoshihananomia inflammata (LeConte, 1862)
Larvae and pupae were collected, and adults reared, from rotten oak logs in Florida (Hubbard in Riley 1892).
Hoshihananomia octopunctata (Fabricius, 1775)
Larvae have apparently been collected from oak stumps ( Felt 1906). Adults were reared from hickory ( Carya Nutt. ; Juglandaceae ) in New York (Leng and Davis 1924) and from under the bark of a dead beech ( Fagus grandifolia Ehrh. ; Fagaceae ) in Tennessee (Ford and Jackman 1996; Jackman and Lu 2002).
