Description. Total length: 5.9–6.1 mm. Width across humeral calli: 0.8–0.9 mm. Body red-brown slightly darker along the elytral suture. Habitus of types: Figs 10–11 View FIGURES 8 – 11 .

Head (Fig. 63) slightly broader than long with fine and sparse punctures. Temples as long as ocular diameter. Vertex and frons very weakly or not grooved. Metarostrum hardly foveate, with a small groove reaching the prorostrum. Prorostrum 0.30–0.35 as long as head + metarostrum + mesorostrum. Antennomere 3 conical, as long as broad, 4–8 broader than long, subcylindrical; 11th 1.75–1.90 longer than 10th.

Pronotum shiny, smooth; prosternum of male with two small brushes of thick red-brown hair just below the collar constriction (Fig. 64). Prosternellum distinct. Metasternum not depressed. Metafemora slightly grooved on upper side. Base of elytra straight, interstria 1, 3, 4 and 5 slightly protruding forward; interstria 4 abruptly stopped before apical declivity; interstria 5, 6 and 7 connected forward to form a common humeral interstria. No small tooth at base of the external border of apical "forceps"; inner border of "forceps" variable, with or without median tooth (Fig. 66–68)

Sternites III–IV of abdomen (Fig. 65) not depressed, smooth, not carinate laterally; sternite III longitudinally grooved. Tergite VIII of female with blunt denticulations at the apex (Fig. 69). Gonopods IX: Fig. 71; Spermatheca: Fig. 70.

Remarks. Comparison and dissection of the type specimens of C. forcipitiger ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 8 – 11 ) and C. lamingtoni ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 11 ), and examination of numerous specimens, showed that many individuals are intermediate between these two forms, and there is no correlation with geographic distribution. So I conclude that Carcinopisthius lamingtoni Damoiseau, 1987 = C. forcipitiger Damoiseau, 1987 , n. syn. Distribution map: Fig. 99 View FIGURE 99 .
