Type (lectotype designated by Babcock 1947: 262):— ITALY. Apargia lucida , s.d., Tenore s.n. ( K) .
Note: — Crepis aurea var. glabrescens Caruel was published without a diagnosis and accompanied by reference to two different names: Hieracium columnae Ten. and Hieracium aureum β Bertol. According to Arts. 6.12 and 6.13 of the ICN, it may be considered either as a replacement name for Hieracium columnae Ten. or a new taxon based on the reference to a previously and effectively published description of Hieracium aureum β Bertol. (Art. 38.1 of the ICN). We choose here to consider the name Crepis aurea ( L.) Cass. var. glabrescens Caruel as a replacement name for Hieracium columnae Ten., which is in turn a replacement name for Apargia lucida Ten.
