Diagnosis. Distinguished from the two other species ( H. longipilosa and H. jeffreyana ) having nine dorsal spines on the hindtibia by the precence of a pair of interocellar foveoles on the head, rounded lateral borders of the pronotum and the much darker and homogeneous colouration of the tegmina.

Material studied. Lectotype, 1♂, Cabo de Agua ( Melilla), XI–1908, Arias (prep.: Bo 1355). (M. Madrid).

Description of male. Size. Length of pronotum: 4.7 mm; length of tegmina 15 mm.

Colouration. Head with darker brown vertex, frons and postclypeus; anteclypeus and labrum ochreous, bottom of interocellar foveoles with a lightly coloured spot. Pronotum for most part more or less uniformly nut brown; anterior margin with a broad lightly coloured band, mesal third transparent, lateral parts yellow, yellow area of both sides at the median border protruding into the brown central area, forming there a pair of unregularly shaped patches. Tegmina with dark brown anal field, remaining surface lighter brown, with a narrow dark brown stripe along the basal part of the subcosta, costal field whitish transparent, anal furrow transparent, widening towards the base ( Fig. 20D View FIGURE 20 ). Remaining body mainly ochreous.

Head. Distance between eyes greater than between ocelli, the latter slightly greater than diameter of ocelli. Interocellar depression with a pair of small but very distinct foveolae marked by a lightly coloured bottom.

Pronotum. Almost transversely oval, laterally rounded, anterior border without sinusoidal projection.

Wings. Relatively short. Tegmina almost longitudinally oval, anterior and posterior border regularly rounded, apex fairly mesally, without subcosta lobe ( Fig. 20D View FIGURE 20 ).

Other characters. Tibia armament: [1.8.0][6.8.1][10.7.4], dorsal spines of the hindtibia in two groups à 7 and 3, ventral spines in two groups à 2.—Subgenital plate: Fig. 4E View FIGURE 4 .—Right phallomere: Fig. 4F View FIGURE 4 .

Female: Chopard 1929, 343.
