Type material. Holotype: CHINA: Hainan Province: ♂, Nada, coll. Chou Io, 6. iv. 1963 ; Paratype: 1 ♂, same data as holotype .

Description. Colour. Yellow brown. Frontoclypeus black posteriorly. Ocelli yellow brown. Eyes dark brown. Forewings yellow brown, veins margined with fine pale brown line. Hind wings hyaline, pale white.

Body. Length, male 5.2 mm including forewing. Vertex broadly subtriangular, slightly upturned anteriorly. Ocellus close to corresponding eye. Measurements of vertex length: interocular width: pronotal length (mm): 0.68: 1.0: 0.68. Pronotum slightly wider than head.

Male genitalia: Subgenital plates with 5 lateral setae. Pygofer side angulate apically. Aedeagus with pair of terminal processes, horn-like, extending posteriorly; processes with teeth in middle of inner lateral margin; aedeagal shaft stout, long, narrowing to apex and constricted at 1/3 and 2/ 3 in dorsal/ventral view, ventrally keeled; gonopore subapical on ventral side; dorsal apodeme well developed.

Female: unknown.

Etymology. The species name, an adjective, is derived from the Chinese pronunciation of the locality of type material.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Remarks. This species resembles H. wallengreni , but can be distinguished from the latter by: 1) unusual aedeagal processes with teeth in the middle of inner-lateral margin; 2) aedeagal shaft stout, without diamond-shaped flare subapically; 3) dorsal apodeme of aedeagus well developed.
