Redescription. Male. Body medium sized. Vertex of head divided into conical tubercles. Legs elongate and slender; fore femur about 1.5–1.8 times longer than the pronotum, ventrally unarmed, internal knee lobe with a small spine, external genicular lobe with 1 elongate movable spur; fore tibiae beneath with 2 external spurs and 1 internal spur. Mid femur with an elongate movable spur on the internal and external genicular lobe, ventrally unarmed; mid tibiae beneath with 1 external spur and 1 internal spur. Hind femur without spines ventrally; hind tibiae above with 58–82 outer and inner spines respectively, arranged in groups. Supra internal spur of hind tibiae not exceeding ventral apex of hind metatarsus. Hind metatarsus keeled ventrally. Epiphallus of male genitalia Ashaped, upper arm rather short, lateral arms with apex blunt ( Figs. 36–37 View FIGURES 36–38 ).

Female. Subgenital plate wider than long and hind margin deeply notched ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 36–38 ). Ovipositor almost equal to half the length of hind femur.

Coloration. Body dark brown. Legs with annular stripes.

Measurements. (length in mm) Body ♂ 11.0–17.0, ♀ 12.0–17.0; pronotum ♂ 5.5–6.5, ♀ 5.5–7.5; fore femur ♂ 8.0–11.5, ♀ 8.5–10.0; hind femur ♂ 15.0–22.5, ♀ 16.0–27.0; ovipositor 9.0–13.0.

Specimens studied. 1♂, Xitianmu, Linan , Zhejiang, 1069m, 2010-IX-13 ~ X-3, collected by Pan Hui ; 2♂♂, Xitianmu, Linan , Zhejiang, 1168–1172m, 2011-VIII-13 ~ IX-10, collected by Pan Hui ; 1♀, Tianmu Mountain , 1989-IX-2, collected by Protura group; 5♂♂ 4♀♀, Liziping reserve, Shimian , Sichuan, alt. 2100m, 2007-VII- 22 ~25, collected by Liu Xian-Wei et al.; 3♂♂ 1♀, Laba River, Tianquan , Sichuan, 2060m, 2007-VII-28 ~30, collected by Liu Xian-Wei et al.; 1♂ 1♀, Qingcheng Mountain, Dujiangyan , 1987-VIII-10, collected by Liu Xian- Wei ; 8♂♂ 19♀♀, Hongxialinchang, Liupanshan , Ningxia, alt. 2000m, 2008-VII-11 ~12, collected by Bi Wen-Xuan ; 17♂♂ 13♀♀ (nymphs), Liupanshan , Ningxia, 2008-VI-21 ~ VII-8, collected by Bi Wen-Xuan.

Distribution. China (Gansu *, Ningxia, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Hubei).

Diagnosis. The main features of this species are: (1) widely distributed; (2) body size medium, it is more difficult to distinguish from other species just from morphological features. Epiphallus of male genitalia and subgenital plate can be regarded as the diagnostic characters to distinguish from others. This species with 2 synonyms: T. (G.) tianmushanensis Zhang & Liu, 2001 syn. n and T. (G.) improvisus (Gorochov, 2010) syn. n..

The individuals collected from Zhejiang have the hind tibiae above with 72–82 spines at each side and the hind femur is about 22.0–23.0mm long; the individuals collected from Sichuan have the hind tibiae above on each side with 60–65 spines and the hind femur is about 20.0mm long; the individuals collected from Ningxia have the hind tibiae above on each side with 58–63 spines and the hind femur is about 15.0–16.0mm long. We consider that the specimens from Zhejiang, Sichuan, Ningxia are geographical variations of T. (G.) beresowskii ( Adelung, 1902) because the male genitalia and the female subgenital plate are almost the same between populations.
