Graphis subvittata Adawadkar & Makhija (2007: 322) View in CoL .

Type:— INDIA. Karnataka: Nandi hills, 26 September 1981, M. B . Nagarkar & P. K . Sethy 81.508 ( AMH, holotype) .

Thallus corticolous, off-white, cracked and uneven, corticate, dull. Lirellae prominent, with a basal thalline margin, short, up to 2 mm long, straight or curved, simple or trifurcately branched, labia convergent, striate, black, not pruinose, disc concealed, ( striatula -morph). Exciple apically to peripherally carbonized; hymenium clear; ascospores 8/ascus, hyaline, transversely 11–13-septate, 25–33 × 4–5 μm.

Chemistry: stictic acid (major), constictic acid (major), norstictic acid (major).

Distribution and habitat:—Eastern palaeotropics, reported from India (type locality), Vietnam ( Joshi et al. 2013) and from Thailand, Loei province for the first time by Poengsungnoen et al. (2010) where it was collected from a lower montane scrub. G. subvittata was not present in our material.

Remarks:—The description provided by Adawadkar & Makhija (2001) does not completely conform with the photograph presented in that paper. While the description says: “Exciple complete, ... covered by a thalline margin till the top ...”, the photograph shows naked lirellae with a basal (to lateral) thalline margin only.

* Graphis sundarbanensis Jagadeesh Ram & G. P. Sinha (2007: 231) . Fig. 8D View FIGURE 8 . Type:— INDIA. West Bengal: Sundarbans Biosphere Reserve, Buridubri mangrove forests, on Excoecaria agallocha , at ± sea level, 21

February 2004, T. A. M. Jagadeesh Ram 828 ( CAL, holotype; BSA, isotype) .

Thallus corticolous, whitish gray, off-white or greenish gray, smooth to minutely roughened, ecorticate or partly corticate, dull. Lirellae immersed to erumpent, with a lateral thalline margin, elongate, up to 8 mm long, straight, curved or sinuous, simple or dichotomously or radiately branched, labia divergent, entire, not pruinose or whitish pruinose, disc open, white pruinose, ( scripta -morph). Exciple latterally carbonized; hymenium clear; ascospores 8/ ascus, hyaline, transversely 7–9-septate, (17–) 24–28 × 5–7 μm.

Chemistry: stictic acid (major), α- acetylconstictic acid (major to trace), constictic acid (major to submajor), hypostictic acid (minor), ± peristictic acid (minor), ± cryptostictic acid (minor).

Distribution and habitat:—eastern palaeotropics, reportet from India (type locality) and here for the first time from Thailand where it was collected in various plantations on Cocos nucifera , Areca catechu , Plumeria rubra , Senna siamea and in a dry dipterocarp forest on Dipterocarpus alatus , from 7 to 33 m elevation.

Remarks:—An extented chemistry of this species is given for the first time. G. sundarbanensis is rather variable, concerning the branching pattern of the lirellae (see Figure 8D View FIGURE 8 , and the protologue).

Material from Thailand examined:— Prachuap Khiri Khan province: Bang Saphan district, tambon Mae Ramphueng, Pa Klang Ao forest park, along Road #4045, in a disturbed dry dipterocarp forest ( Dipterocarpus alatus ), 15 m, 11°12’37’’ N, 99°31’26’’ E, 20 December 2015, J.
