Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase in API 20NE, but negative for indole production, urease, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase and gelatinase. Utilize D-glucose, L-arabinose, D-mannose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D-maltose and potassium gluconate, but not utilize capric acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, phenylacetic acid and adipic acid. Strain TMIL-2 (= NIBRBA0000114323) has been isolated from a freshwater sample, Milyang, Gyeongnam Province, Korea.
