In the original description of Platyola geostiboides View in CoL , which is based on a holotype and eleven paratypes from “ China: Yunnan, Lincang Pref., Bangma Shan, 20 km NW Lincang”, it was noted that the “habitus [was] somewhat unusual for Platyola View in CoL ” ( ASSING 2011). A revision of the type material revealed that the species in fact belongs to Franzidota PACE, 1982 View in CoL , a genus recently moved to the subtribe Meoticina View in CoL of the Oxypodini ( ASSING 2020) View in CoL .
