Female

All funiculars wider than long, Fu3 anelliform ( Fig. 13F View Fig ); ventral margin of clypeus weakly convex ( Fig. 13D View Fig ); head in frontal view with gena buccate ( Fig. 13B View Fig ); hind tibia length about 5 × width; gaster shorter than combined length of head and mesosoma, moderately compressed laterally ( Fig. 13A View Fig ); tip of hypopygium not incised (cf. Fig. 7I View Fig ); ovipositor sheath length about 0.3 × length of hind tibia.

Etymology

The species name refers to the great river Rovuma, in the vicinity of which the holotype was collected (noun in genitive case).

Description

Female holotype

Body length: 0.8 mm. Colour as in Fig. 13 View Fig . Head in frontal view with vertex not protruding between posterior ocelli ( Fig. 13B View Fig ). Gena buccate ( Fig. 13B View Fig ). Ventral margin of clypeus weakly convex ( Fig. 13D View Fig ). Upper face smooth except rare piliferous punctures ( Fig. 13B View Fig ). Length of pedicel plus flagellum shorter than head width. All funiculars wider than long, Fu3 anelliform ( Fig. 13F View Fig ). Mesosoma dorsally almost flat ( Fig. 13A View Fig ). Pronotum longer than mesoscutum ( Fig. 13E View Fig ). Basal cell of fore wing with a few scattered setae on upper side ( Fig. 13C View Fig ). MV about 2.4 × SV. Hind tibia length about 5× width. Gaster shorter than combined length of head and mesosoma, moderately compressed laterally ( Fig. 13A View Fig ). Tip of hypopygium not incised (cf. Fig. 6I View Fig ). Ovipositor sheath length about 0.3× length of hind tibia.

Taxonomic comments

This species stands out in having extensively light-coloured legs and differs from similar species such as E. brevicauda sp. nov. and E. monticola in having a weakly convex clypeal margin and a shorter marginal vein.
