Distribution:— According to Govaerts et al. (2016), Cyrtorchis henriquesiana occurs in three countries ( São Tomé and Príncipe, Equatorial Guinea ( Rio Muni) and Gabon). We have, however, seen specimens clearly assignable to this species from three other countries: Ghana, Cameroon and Democratic Republic of the Congo. Cyrtorchis henriquesiana is thus distributed in Upper Guinea, Lower Guinea and Congolian Domains.

Habitat and ecology:— Epiphyte or lithophyte found in rainforest, secondary forest and in plantations between 67 and 590 m elevation. Flowering peak in August.

Notes:— Cyrtorchis subcylindrifolia , which was formally synonymized with C. aschersonii by Summerhayes (1960), is considered here as a synonym of C. henriquesiana . The linear and acicular leaves are more related to C. henriquesiana rather than to C. aschersonii which has larger (7.5–17 mm large) and V-shaped leaves. Another discriminant feature is the length of the inflorescence which is shorter in C. subcylindrifolia and in C. henriquesiana (up to 2.3 cm) compared to C. aschersonii (more than 12.5 cm).

In the protologue of Angraecum subcylindrifolium , two syntypes were cited by De Wildeman (1918), Boone 113 and Boone 115 both from Nala, territoire Paulis, Democratic Republic of the Congo. We designated Boone 113 as the lectotype since the specimen is more complete and representative of the protologue.
