Range: — Colombia to Bolivia (LP).

Ecology: —Rare in the understory of montane rainforests, usually in small groups in gorges; 2680 m.

Notes: —In this species, the pinnae are ± opposite in the proximal half of the lamina but may be alternate towards the apex. The hairy petioles and the large and wide, orange-brown scales are distinctive.
