Crypturgus tuberosus Niisima, 1909: 139 View in CoL .

Distribution: Japan, Russia (Far East), Taiwan. The previous Taiwanese record was from logs imported from Taiwan to Japan ( Nobuchi 1967). The occurrence of the species in Taiwan can now be confirmed. [2a]

New record: Nantou, Huison , 18.iii.2006 (L. Y. Liu) (2) .

Hosts: Picea spp. , Pinus spp. (Pinaceae) ( Wood & Bright 1992).

Biology: Most of the species of Crypturgus Erichson live in association with other bark beetles attacking pines, and their galleries intermingle (e.g. Schedl 1946; Chararas 1962).
