Fig. 2E View FIGURE 2
Calliostoma möbiusi Strebel, 1905a: 133 , pl. 5, fig. 22; Melvill & Standen, 1912: 121
Examined material. 1 an. and 5 sh. (MACN-In 40665).
Description. Shell width to 10.1 mm (up to 16.6 mm according to Strebel 1905a); pyramidal, solid. Protoconch of 1.25 convex whorls. Teleoconch of up to 5 whorls, almost straight in outline; last whorl comprising about 70% of total shell height. Suture impressed. Surface pink, with narrow, white spiral bands; firsts two whorls sculptured with 3 or 4 spiral cords, vanishing on subsequent whorls; last whorl with a weak cord at base. In addition, faint growth lines are evident along all teleoconch whorls. Aperture subquadrate, interior iridescent; columellar callus expanded over the umbilical area. Operculum rounded, multispiral; pale brown, translucent.
Remarks. The material studied here resembles C. moebiusi Strebel, 1905 . However it differs by having teleoconch sculpture less developed.
