Type:— VIETNAM. Annam, prov. du Kontum, entre les villages de Takha et Dakto, 13 March 1941, E. Poilane 32312 (holotype P!, isotype K!). Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 .
It differs from subsp. gracilis in its longer rachises, higher number of pinnae, and narrower middle pinnae.
Rachises 44.4(32.0–60.0) cm long; pinnae 23(18–29) per side of rachis; middle pinnae 1.2(0.7–1.8) cm wide.
Distribution and habitat:—Central and southern Vietnam in lowland or montane forest at 733(555–1130) m elevation.
