Range:— Southwestern USA to Colombia and western Venezuela; Ecuador; Peru; Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC) to northwestern Argentina.

Ecology:— Locally fairly common; terrestrial in semideciduous to deciduous forests; 1200–2550 m.

Notes:— Part of the A. monanthes complex ( Dyer et al. 2012).
