There are two paratypes, one female and one male. Female paratype with five labels. Label 1: White label—stating collection locality '( INDIA: Tamil Nadu), North Salem, Jawalagiri; 29.iv.1930; collected by FRI Sandal Insect Survey'. Label 2: Small label with '422''. Label 3: White label—' Aspidolopha ornaticollis Bryant , ♀ (hand written), GE Bryant det.' Label 4: Yellow bordered white circular label stating 'Cotype'. Label 5: Yellow label with printed 'Cotype'.

Remarks: Antennae are broken. The second male 'cotype' is from the same locality and data except dating 24.ix.1930 and a small label with '423'

Comments: The number of type specimens or their depository is not mentioned in the original publication. However, five specimen numbers are mentioned—'336, 337, 422, 423 and 424''. In NFIC, specimens numbered '422 and 423' are present with details as mentioned above. Rest of the specimens, probably designated as type and cotypes, are deposited elsewhere.
