Lectotype (designated here):— BRAZIL. Rio de Janeiro: Secretário, Fazenda da Rocinha , February 1937 (fl.), C. Taxonomic notes:— Hoehne (1942a) in the protologue cited two collections from Rio de Janeiro state: Freire, V. (n. 771) deposited at R herbarium with duplicate at SP herbarium, and Lima, S. (n. 136) deposited at RB herbarium. Because Freire’s gathering is the most representative specimen, it is designated here as the lectotype.

Lectotype (designated by González et al. 2015: 51):— ARGENTINA. Salta: “in campo sicco, apricotdecumbens”, 24 March 1901 (fl.), R. E. Fries 561 ( S No. S-R-391!, isolectotype G barcode G00237220 !).
Taxonomic notes:— Aristolochia ceresensis var. lingua is a heterotypic synonym of A. lingua Malme (see González et al. 2015).

Lectotype (designated here):— BRAZIL. São Paulo : Córrego Água Branca, 20 km de Araraquara, 01 December 1888 (fl.), A. Loefgren 1126 ( SP No. 9497 barcode SP000406 !; the image of the lectotype is available at http://plants.jstor. org/stable/viewer/10.5555/al.ap.specimen.sp000406).
Taxonomic notes:— Aristolochia loefgrenii is a heterotypic synonym of A. esperanzae Kuntze (1898: 272) (see Capellari 2002).
