NOTES: G. Lister (1921b) mentions various specimens “on dead wood; Ceylon, Malay Peninsula, Queensland”. There are 4 boxes in BM. BM 3227 from Singapore and Queensland (K.155) ; BM 4053 from Ceylon and BM 4054 from Johore, Malaysia. We chose the specimen from Ceylon ( BM 4053 ) as the lectotype as it is in good condition and representative of the species. The epithet virecens “becoming green” refers to the colour of the sporocarps .
