Andrena (Cryptandrena) diomedia Warncke, 1975

Remarks. Listed by Comba (2019) [species 58] citing Warncke (1975c; 1980) and Kuhlmann et al. (2015). All these publications use the combination A. rotundata ssp. diomedia , a species that Comba (2019) lists as species 59. Currently there is no suitable evidence to justify the elevation to species status of A. diomedia ; genetic data is needed to first clarify the relationship of A. rotundata Pérez, 1895 to A. brumanensis Friese, 1899 , particularly on Sicily where A. rotundata appears to exclude A. brumanensis (Wood, unpublished data), before the status of the taxon diomedia can be clarified.
